Mirsat is a Brussels-based ASBL launched in 2024. We aim to build a bridge between the European cultural scene and artistic practices that shed light on the SWANA region.
At Mirsat, we believe art has the power to bring awareness to different socio-political realities and emancipate its subjects from stereotypes and misperceptions.
With one founding member in Beirut and the other in diaspora, Mirsat was born out of a need for exchange.
For us, authenticity is a process, not an end in itself: performing and creating allows us to explore our subjectivities while reflecting on our positionality in our respective communities.
مرساة هي جمعية غير ربحية مقرها بروكسل تأسست في عام 2024. نهدف إلى بناء جسر بين الساحة الثقافية الأوروبية والممارسات الفنية التي تسلط الضوء على منطقة جنوب غرب آسيا وشمال إفريقيا
نؤمن بأن الفن لديه القدرة على تسليط الضوء على الحقائق الاجتماعية والسياسية المختلفة وتحرير موضوعاتها من الصور النمطية والمفاهيم الخاطئة

EFTA
EFTA, the Arab Theatre Festival in Europe, is a yearly festival by Mirsat. This festival is a culmination of mirsat’s activities throughout the year, contained into several smaller events, to solidify the artist network and their audiences in brussels. We aim to create an accessible and approachable environment for audiences of all backgrounds to take part in the artistic practices from artists of the region.
مهرجان المسرح العربي في أوروبا EFTA
هو مهرجان سنوي من تنظيم مرساة. يعد هذا المهرجان تتويجًا لأنشطة مرساة على مدار العام ويسعى لتعزيز شبكة الفنانين وجمهورهم في بروكسل. و يهدف إلى إعداد مساحة تفاعلية تدعم مشاركة الجميع في الممارسات الفنية التي يقدمها الفنانين العرب في المهجر
The Team
Karen El-Haddad - كارن الحداد
Co-Founder - شريك مؤسس
Based in Brussels, Karen is a graphic designer and a cultural worker. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a Minor in Theatre at the American University of Beirut, Karen moved to Belgium to complete a Master's in Media and Information Design at LUCA School of Arts. It’s during that time that she started exploring the Brussels theater scene, for which she continues to work and volunteer as a teacher, director, and producer.
مقيمة في بروكسل، تعمل كارن كمصممة جرافيك وعاملة في المجال الثقافي. بعد إكمالها لدرجة البكالوريوس في الفنون الجميلة أختصاص تصميم الجرافيك مع تخصص فرعي في مجال المسرح في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، انتقلت كارن إلى بلجيكا لإكمال درجة الماجستير في تصميم وسائل الإعلام والمعلومات في مدرسة الفنون الجميلة "لوكا". خلال ذلك الوقت، بدأت في استكشاف مشهد المسرح في بروكسل، حيث ما زالت تعمل وتتطوع كمدرسة ومخرجة ومنتجة
Makram Al Halabi - مكرم الحلبي
Co-Founder - شريك مؤسس
Based in Beirut, Makram started getting involved in the local theater in 2010, acting in major and student productions. He then worked as a Technical Director in theaters in Beirut such as Al Madina Theatre and Sunflower Theatre. He then expanded into the TV and Cinema industry as a sound engineer, editor, director, and producer. For the past four years, Makram has been working as a video journalist for alternative news platforms, notably Megaphone News and Daraj Media. He Studied Communication Arts in Advertising and Radio TV.
شريك مؤسس، مقيم في بيروت، بدأ مكرم العمل في مسارح بيروت عام 2010، حيث قام بالتمثيل في أعمال مسرحية تجارية وطلابية. ثم عمل كمدير فني في أكثر من مسرح، مثل مسرح المدينة ومسرح دوار شمس و مسرح بابل . ثم توسع نطاق عمله ليشمل الصناعة التلفزيونية والسينمائية كمهندس صوت، محرر، مخرج ومنتج خلال الأربع سنوات الماضية، عمل مكرم كصحفي ومصور لصالح منصات إخبارية بديلة مثل منصة"درج" ومنصة "ميغافون"، حائز على شهادة بكالوريوس في فنون التواصل والإعلام مع تخصص في مجال الإذاعة والتلفزيون
